Queenstown Airport

Queenstown Airport is located close to the town centre, in the suburb of Frankton. International flights operate between Queenstown and three Australian destinations – Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. Domestic flights are operated by Air New Zealand and Qantas.

Transport options
Bus
$5 adult one way – about 25 minutes. The Connectabus service departs from the airport every 20 or 30 minutes from 7.20am to 10.50 pm daily.
The fare to downtown Queenstown is $5 for adults and $2 for children.
Reservations are not required. Tickets are available from the driver.

Shuttle
Approximately $15 for one person, $18 for two – about 20 minutes. A shuttle is a cost effective way to travel into the centre of the town. Discounts apply if two or more people are travelling together – $3 for each addition person. Shuttles are normally shared with other passenger groups. The journey can take up to 30 minutes at peak traffic times or when there are several drop-offs along the way. Allow plenty of time to reach the airport for departing flights.

Taxi
Approximately $25 – about 15 minutes. The above price and travelling time are for a journey between the airport and the centre of town. If you’re travelling to the airport by taxi, make sure you allow plenty of time.

Car rental
Major rental car companies operate from the terminal building. Bookings are strongly recommended.
