Hamilton Airport
The airport is located 14 km south of the city. Take the Tamahere turn off and turn under the main road, heading west. Follow Airport Rd and the signs to Hamilton International Airport (approx 4kms down this road). It is New Zealand’s fourth largest airport. International flights are operated by Freedom Air between Hamilton and three Australian destinations – Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sydney.Domestic flights to and from Hamilton are operated by Air New Zealand and Sunair.

Hamilton International Airport’s main carpark, directly outside the terminal, accommodates both short term and long term carparking. This carpark is fully automated, therefore accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Short Term
Parking is free for under 30 minutes. You pay $6.00 for 30 minutes to 1 hour, with an hourly charge of $5.00 thereafter. The maximum daily charge is $40.00.

Long Term
There is no need to book, you simply turn up on the day of your departure. The entry barrier issues a ticket upon entry to the carpark, and when you return from your trip you take this ticket to a pay station. There are three paystations, two located in the centre of the carpark, one immediately outside the terminal. Paystations take credit cards, notes and coins and do give change.

The carpark is monitored by security camera, and fully lit at night. Our Fire Rescue and Security Officers patrol the carpark regularly. The carpark costs NZ$350 per day, with a maximum monthly charge of NZ$95 per stay. There is a lost ticket charge of $95.00.
